Andrew J. Kat began his famous life in a dramatic fashion. His mother Angelina was rescued off the streets of Staten Island, and Andrew (then Huck), was born in a bathtub in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He traded in his rough start for a more noble life, and resides with his brother Chekhov in Tudor City in New York’s Manhattan and Loveladies, New Jersey. He is a distinguished small man in a tweed suit, who is both an elevated dapper gentleman and also occasionally known as a ‘rascal.’ He is a connoisseur of salty meats, cold water and enjoys a sandwich from The Neptune Market in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey as well as Chinese food, TGI Fridays, and anything being cooked at all times in garlic and oil, naturally assuming it is for him. He is the subject of many popular songs (often about him) including Andrew is a Good Cat, Andrew is Kind, Andrew is Nice and the pop hit No One is Bagging Andrew (Andrew knows he’s getting bagged).

Future projects include: being annoyed at his brother for taking his spot and a residency at Café Carlyle.

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, a world famous medical doctor, playwright and black cat was once referred to as ‘Chevo’ due to an autocorrect error and is also now known by that name. He is a serious black cat, who often can be found saying that no one is petting him or only petting his brother, that no one is inviting him onto the bed, feeding him or otherwise telling him that he is the center of all things. He enjoys sleeping in the living room, on the bed and on one of two loungers in the bedroom, which he asserts both belong to him. While most noted for his plays and short stories, he also is highly regarded for cat opera in many bedrooms at 3am. He has a singular 'ach' sound and he in fact does want treats. He, however, strenuously does not enjoy being laughed at or having his treats or dry food delayed. He often collaborates with his brother Andrew, though definitely is not cuddling with him. He looks forward to the next revival of one of his plays, assuming he is invited. The wonderful veterinary staff at Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital said he is, “a little bit of a bigger boy,” which is a compliment.

Andrew and Chekhov were adopted from PS9/ASPCA in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and enjoy spending time with Maggie, Zac and their friend Carole.
